Challenges & Opportunities
The SII initiatives has successfully expanded Sumba’s electrification ratio to 40%. New partnerships and a strengthened stakeholders’ commitment will ensure we can reach 100% electrification target by 2025.
Up to 37 MW of renewable energy can be harvested in Sumba according to Castlerockasia’s research –enough to supply the island’s electricity needs twice over until 2020. Its success can serve as model for all Indonesia.
